Here's my very first war-related photo. Though not so great in craft, I took it on a $12 point and shoot camera I picked up at a drug store before going over to Bosnia at the end of the civil war in 1996. Exploring the frozen front line in Grbavica, I couldn't help but marvel at this trench the Bosnian loyalists had built using cars for a wall. It was largely so that civilians who lived in the neighborhood could move between the buildings many of them still lived in without getting shot by Bosnian Serb soldiers looking down from beyond the stadium, Sarajevo, DJG.
